Check-in with a code
On arrival day you get an SMS and an email with your room number and door code. The code opens the entrance and your room from 2:30 pm. No reception to find, no key to hand back.
Check-out
Check out by 11:00 am – just leave. The code stops working automatically.
Parking
Free, right by the hotel. Arrive by car, van or bike – there is room for everyone.
Lounge on the ground floor
Free coffee and tea around the clock, microwave, TV and a place to sit. Vipps kiosk with soft drinks and chocolate. See photos

Equipment room on the 3rd floor
Hairdryer, iron, cot, extra pillows, bed linen and towels. Take what you need, when you need it.
Pets and smoking
Dogs and cats are welcome for a fee per animal (see terms). The whole hotel is non-smoking.

Frequently asked questions
How do I check in?
You receive your room number and door code by SMS and email on arrival day. The code opens the entrance and your room from 2:30 pm.
When are check-in and check-out?
Check-in from 2:30 pm, check-out by 11:00 am. The code stops working automatically at check-out.
Can I book for tonight?
Yes, right up until 23:30 – as long as the payment goes through at the same time. Your room number and key code then arrive by SMS straight away. After midnight the night already under way can no longer be booked.
Is parking free?
Yes, free parking right by the hotel for all guests.
Is breakfast included?
No. We keep the price down by skipping the breakfast buffet. The lounge has free coffee and tea around the clock, plus a microwave and disposable tableware for food you bring along – and there is a fridge in your room.
Can I bring a dog or cat?
Yes, for a fee per animal per stay (max 3 animals per room). Animals must not be on beds or furniture. See terms.
Can I cancel?
Rooms at the standard rate can be cancelled free of charge until 6:00 pm the day before arrival. Bookings via Booking.com and other channels follow the terms there.
Is anyone at the hotel at night?
Yes. We have a night guard on site. The phone is answered around the clock – by us from 07:00 to 23:00 and by the night guard from 23:00 to 07:00.
Can my company be invoiced?
Yes. We offer company agreements with invoicing and regular rooms. Email booking@kongsvingerbudgethotel.no and we will set it up.
Are you part of a hotel chain?
No. Kongsvinger Budget Hotel is independent and family-owned – a concept hotel run locally in Kongsvinger since 2016.
What is a concept hotel?
A concept hotel is built around one idea: you should walk straight in, sleep well and pay little. You book and pay online, get your room number and key code by SMS and let yourself in – at any hour. A clean room, a good bed, open wifi and free parking.
How many rooms do you have?
24 rooms and 53 beds – single and twin rooms, double rooms, three triple rooms and one family room.
Is there a lift?
There is a lift to the second floor, but we recommend the stairs. We do not have rooms adapted for guests with reduced mobility.
How clean is it?
Cleanliness is what we rank highest – and it is what guests give us the best feedback on. Rooms are cleaned thoroughly between every guest, with fresh linen and fresh towels. If you need more, there is extra in the equipment room on the third floor.
Is there a TV and wifi in the room?
Yes. Every room has a TV with a good selection of channels, and the wifi is open and free – no login, no restrictions.
What else is there at the hotel?
A fridge in the room and free parking right outside. The ground-floor lounge has free coffee and tea, a microwave, disposable tableware and an honesty kiosk paid by Vipps. The roof terrace on the second floor is open in summer.
Do you have meeting or event rooms?
No, we are purely an accommodation hotel. But we are happy to host groups, and we offer company agreements with invoicing and fixed rooms.
Where do I find a hairdryer, an iron or a cot?
In the equipment room on the third floor – the door is marked «Div. utstyr». Extra pillows, linen and towels are there too. Help yourself.
Do you have a reception?
No, we do not have a normal reception – that is part of how we keep the price low. But you can call reception between 07:00 and 23:00 if you have questions or need anything during your stay.
